Horse Natural Selection (ID)
“Natural selection is the gradual, nonrandom process by which biological traits become either more or less common in a population as a function of differential reproduction of their bearers. It is a key mechanism of evolution.” Also known as survival of the fittest. The horse family known as the equidae first emerged in North America 55 million years ago and has evolved over time. Nearly all of these diverse horses extinct over time. In this present day the equidae family, which also included zebras and donkeys, only has seven different species. 35 million years ago the climate began to change the wet forests in North America to dry grasslands. This change affected horse evolution. Present day horses show many adaptations to the plains habitat. I.E.- Early horses had 3 or 4 toes, each ending in a small hoof. But those horses with bigger stronger, middle toes were better adapted to run on and walk on dry, hard ground. Natural selection led to the near disappearance of the side toes, while the middle toe and its hoof became gradually bigger.

ID The Evolution of Horse
Recently i have been doing a project for one of my classes that involves evolution. I chose horse.
Also, Each breed has a different trait such as body size and skeletal conformation to enhance the horses marketability, soundness, function and their performance. to identify a horses, professionals use 35 measurements to identify and determine skeletal variation in the horse. Professionals measured 1215 horses and determined 65 breeds of diverse types such as Arabic horse, shire, shetland pony, thoroughbred, american miniature, clydesdale.

Voices 10 (The Brotherhood/Sister Sol)
Wow. The only word I can say about the event i attended last night. Last night i attended an event hosted by The Brotherhood/ Sister Sol called voices. Voices is The Brotherhood/Sistersols signature annual benefit highlighting their youth and life changing programming. The event provides an extraordinary opportunity for supporters to celebrate BHSS’s commitment to helping youth develop into critical thinkers and community leaders.
Last night was a wonderful night. I've met a couple of famous people such as Michael Ealy and Salt from Salt and pepper. Its cool learning how to network and talk to so much people and donors interested in the program. Also one of my brothers from my chapter gave a speech. I was really proud of him and the way he presented himself. Also one of my chapter leaders read a poem and really did well. I really enjoyed the event and i'm looking forward to attending next year.

Education in Ghana (ID)
Student Life In Ghana: Graduates who wish to further advance their education will move into the 3-year senior secondary program. Most of the senior secondary schools in Ghana provide boarding facilities, which most of their students use. These universities may offer courses such as General arts, General science, Visual arts and etc. At the end of the three-year senior secondary Program it is mandatory for students to write an exam called West African Senior Secondary Certificate Exam (WASSCE). In order to enroll into these universities an examination is required followed by the completion of senior secondary school.
School enrollment totals almost 2 million: 1.3 million primary; 107,600 middle; 48,900 secondary; 21,280 technical; 11,300 teacher training; and 5,600 university. With over 98% of its children in school, Ghana currently has the second highest school enrolment rate in all of Africa. Ghanaian children begin their education at the age of three or four starting from nursery school to kindergarten, then elementary school (primary school), high school (junior high school and senior high school) and finally university.
The average age at which a Ghanaian child enters primary school is 6 years. Ghana’s grading system is different at every point in education. From above, through the pre-school to the junior high, every grade a student gains is written in terms of numbers instead of alphabets, which is commonly known worldwide. This system does not follow the common way of grading, there are no 1+’s or 6+’s as a grade, unlike letter grades which use the system of pluses and minuses.

HIV/AIDS (Free Choice)
Another situation that’s harming human beings is not only affecting the community but is actually a global problem and thats HIV/AIDS. HIV is a virus carried in blood, semen, vaginal fluids & breast milk. HIV cause acquired immune deficiency syndrome or AIDS. AIDS is the last stage of HIV. AIDS is a disease where theres several loss of the body’s cellular immunity.
HIV impacts the body because it copy itself over and over . AIDS attached itself to the white blood cells and destroy them. The HIV virus began in a chimpanzee species from West Africa. The virus was passed to a hunter when he killed the animal for food.
There's no cure for HIV/AIDS, but there are medications that can dramatically slow the progression of the disease. These drugs have reduced AIDS deaths in many developed nations. But HIV continues to decimate populations in Africa, Haiti and parts of Asia.
The most reliable ways to avoid becoming infected with or transmitting HIV are:
- Abstain from sexual intercourse (i.e., oral, vaginal, or anal sex)
- Be in a long-term, mutually monogamous relationship with an uninfected partner
- Abstain from sharing needles and/or syringes for nonprescription drugs
- Using Condoms

Health (SSR)
Most likely every person has been bullied or has had a friend that was being bullied. Bullying is the use of superior strength or influence to intimidate, typically to force someone to do what one wants. Bullying doesn't only hurt a person physically, it can also hurt mentally. I would like to stop bullying in my community.
One example of the consequences of bullying is the suicide of Rebecca Ann. Rebecca Ann was a normal teenager living her everyday life. Last year Rebecca started attending Crystal Lake Middle School in Florida where she was bullied over boyfriend problems. Last December, Rebecca was hospitalized for three days after cutting her wrists because of what she said was bullying. Later, after Rebecca complained that she had been pushed in the hallway and that another girl wanted to fight her, Rebecca's mother began home-schooling. Her mom had no clue that her daughter was being bullied in school, even though Rebecca mentioned to her mother that she was being bullied in the past. Rebecca's mother claimed that her daughter didn't show any signs of depression since she was in the new school.
Rebecca's behavior started to change since the bullying had started. One day as she left for school, but instead of going to the bus stop she began to walk towards an abandoned concrete plant. She changed one of her online screen names to "That Dead Girl." She messaged a boy in North Carolina: "I'm jumping." And then, on Monday, the Lakeland girl went to the plant, climbed a tower and hurled herself to her death.
I think that Bullying is wrong, and i also think that bullying comes in different shapes and forms. Some people can act like nothings wrong but deep down inside they're living in depression. Some people have to learn their limits and how far they can push someone. Bullying doesn’t make you cool it makes you a coward. Instead of making someone feel bad about themselves, learn how to love and help one another. SAY NO TO BULLYING !!!
Instead of bullying each other and putting each other down, try boosting each others confidence. Instead of bullying doing something positive like doing community service. Or if You have a serious problem with bullying, speak to a therapist. The worst thing to do is to keep all of your feelings to yourself. If you keep your feeling to your self you will began to get really emotional and sometimes emotional. Another alternative to bullying is to write into a journal to express your feelings if you’re not really comfortable expressing yourself to other people. Keep strong and stay positive.
